Introduction

Updates, practice and goals

While in Paris, I came across one esoteric building, made at the beginning of the 20th century. The building had a sophisticated but minimalistic symbolic wall decor and architectural ornaments. I had an impression that those who made or ordered this building at the beginning of the 20th century, had money (or knew how to find it), ambition and were a part of the fashion and the directions of their time.

At the beginning of the 20th century, these esoteric movements were in fashion, they were alive and modern, provocative and underground, no matter if I personally accept or not some or the entire ideas. I noticed then the two details on the building facade, which I wish to describe. The first detail was an email service provider. I saw a contact email address of the esoteric association without a custom domain (name of the company/association after the @). The second detail was a paper A4 in a file with open hours for the bookshop.

Someone may say that I am not spiritual enough or that these small details do not matter so much. Some may consider me too pragmatic and materialist, which is a compliment in my case.

However, I say – no, this is not about pragmatism but about reality. There is a difference between being realist and deny it. I don’t assume that I am realist enough, but I certainly appreciate now a link to reality and to its background. I do not opposite spirit, mind and body. I think that there is a spiritual and mystic way in managing the link between mind and body, a material and a thought, an intention and a realization.

I also make a difference between mystic and mystification. I think mystics see and provide links and analogies between spirit and material world while mystification is often about illusions, where irrational manages minds instead of the opposite.

I think that knowledge manifests in its application to reality, its updates to time cycles, its way to include new opportunities and maintain the timeless things; make things comfortable and useful. I think that this deals with practice, dynamics, search and creation. In reality, we have bodies and everyday problems.

My second thought about digital updates like custom domain and digital or physical accurate presence is about intention. I think now that this lack of current marketing and digital practices are about management. People who organize this organization may be not interested in modernization or have no initiative in it. When I speak about the initiative, I mean material, intellectual and creative capacity of persons who can run the updates. And there is a difference between a way to update with new features and to run after the infinite updates.

The secret societies has an image of dark manipulators who take people’s time and energy or even life.

They also have a reputation of having some timeless treasure in a one box or an aesthetic chest made of gold, human skull or some ether.

I think that this image often comes from our common lifestyle and everyday automatized practices. Magic and esoteric studies have an image of a miracle and a one to all solution. What it shadows is time spending on mastering and practices.
